Minnesota Recount Begins Today

The automatic recount in the Minnesota Senate race between Al Franken and Norm Coleman begins today. Before the recount Coleman, the corrupt Republican, was ahead by 215, or 0.007% of the vote. This will be going on for weeks. I'm not sure whether or not we'll get updated tallies or if we'll just be in the dark until they are all finished.

Either way, go Franken!!

Update: According to Huffington Post Franken is already making gains in the recount:
By day's end, with about 18 percent of the vote recounted, Coleman continued to lead Franken -- but by only 174 votes...
So apparently we are going to get a daily tally, or so it seems. I'm not sure why they are projecting the recount will take weeks though, if in the first day they already recounted 18% of the vote. Oh well, we'll wait and see.

Update (11/20): Coleman's lead has now dropped to 163, with 20% of votes recounted. You can track the recount results here.

On a side note, if Franken keeps up his current rate of gain in St. Louis county, that alone would add another 67 votes for Franken, putting him within double digits of Coleman.
