Ruining My Olympics

Is it just me or are John McCain's constant negative (and absolutely false) attack ads totally spoiling the Olympics?

Case in point, I just watched the amazing 4x100 freestyle relay where the Americans made a stunning comeback from behind, thus saving Michael Phelps's dream of winning eight gold medals. It was a pretty exciting moment, and I generally couldn't care less about sports. It was a moment that will probably be the highlight of the entire Olympics, or at least one of the top.

Then, immediately after that amazing win there is a commercial break, and the next thing I know I'm watching another one of McCain's nasty negative (and absolutely false) attack ads trashing on Barack Obama.

And like that the joy is gone. I instantly go from being excited for the Americans, to being pissed off and bitter from the unsolicited negativity being injected into the Olympics yet again by John McCain.

And that's how it has been since the Olympics started, it seems like in every commercial break the spirit is broken by yet another negative, and baseless, attack ad from McCain. He did it during the opening ceremony too! He ruined the frickin' Parade of Nations with a negative attack ad!! You can't get more anathema to the spirit of the Olympics than that...yet it happens countless times every day. I'm disgusted.

John McCain is ruining the Olympics for me.

Thank you Barack Obama for keeping it absolutely positive, reinforcing the spirit of the Olympics with messages of hope and America's strengths and abilities. How you run your campaign is a tribute to the best of America, unlike McCain, who seems intent on broadcasting its worst.
