McCain On Geography, Starts With "S", Bunch Of Black People, Close Enough?

Just in case you thought McCain's "gaffes" about basic foreign policy subjects were constrained to the Middle East, McCain had a little trouble today with some basic geography, again following closely in the footsteps of Bush, and he had to rely on a handler to correct him, only this time it wasn't BFF Joe Lieberman, it was some other guy:
"We can’t right every wrong and achieve every laudable goal," he said, using Dafur as an example of where many Americans want to act, but have yet to identify a reasonable course of action.

"How can we bring pressure on the government of Somalia?" he asked, which prompted Mark Salter to correct him,. "Sudan," Salter said.

"Sudan," McCain repeated. "There’s a realpolitik side of my view of the conduct of American foreign policy."
You can almost hear those words coming out of Bush's mouth, just add a few awkward pauses while he figures out big words, and maybe add a "heh" in here or there, and you've got a bona fide Bushism.

But hey, I'm sure McCain will do just fine with trying to end the violence in Darfur by yelling at the Somalis. Blacks and blacks right McCain? But don't count on him to understand geopolitical dynamics like how China is funding the genocide in Darfur by purchasing oil from Sudan, I'm sure that is waaayyyyy over his head.
