Guilt By Association

Here is a good article describing Hillary's embrace of Republican-style guilt-by-association tactics, the same tactics that were used against her and Bill in the 90s, and the same tactics that could quite easily be applied to her now, if the media wanted to apply the same McCarthyistic measures to her as they have been to Obama:

by Carl Bernstein

Here is some more on Sidney Blumenthal, mentioned in the above article, who serves as Hillary's link to the right-wing smear circles, which she gleefully feeds with anti-Obama stories:

by Peter Dreier

More guilt-by-association fun: Hillary's new chief strategist, Geoff Garin, who replaced Mark Penn, used to be somewhat of a "radical" himself, advocating the violent overthrow of the government, among other instances saying in 1973:
The government in Washington can not survive under these circumstances, and under these circumstances the government should not survive.... America will be governed in any case, but the question is by whom. If not by the people, then by a strong executive. These are revolutionary times, and we must decide now whom we want to win the revolution.
If he was Obama's chief strategist you can be sure it would have been exposed a long time ago, it wouldn't have been ignored after it had been exposed, and Obama would have to be answering questions about why he surrounds himself with radicals who want to destroy America. Hillary? Not a peep in the media. Read more about Hillary's little Che here:

And for fairness, here is a small taste of McCain's potential guilt-by-associations, if only the media didn't apply an amazingly obvious racial double-standard between what Obama has to account for (ad nauseam) and what Hillary, McCain and other white candidates needn't even be asked about:

Oh, and while McCain attacks Obama for meeting with University of Illinois professor and former 60s radical William Ayers while on a routine tour of local constituents in 1995, saying that Obama must not only repudiate Ayers' past radicalism, but also apologize to the American people for ever meeting the "unrepentant terrorist" (note: Ayers was never convicted of terrorism, but kudos to McCain for his take on "innocent until proven guilty"), McCain has his own radical friend (although this one is actually closer to him than a simple meet and greet): G. Gordon Liddy. Liddy, for those of you unfamiliar, helped orchestrate the Watergate break-in to the DNC headquarters that eventually took down Nixon. He also advocated mass murder against the Vietnamese during the Vietnam War by bombing the Red River dikes which "would have drowned half the country and starved the other half". He also advised the Branch Davidians in Waco, TX to shoot ATF agents in the heads because they will be wearing flak jackets. And if all that wasn't enough, he said he felt inspired by Adolf Hitler.

And where does McCain come into this?:
In 1998, Liddy's home was the site of a McCain fundraiser. Over the years, he has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to the senator's campaigns--including $1,000 this year.

Last November, McCain went on his radio show. Liddy greeted him as "an old friend," and McCain sounded like one. "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family," he gushed. "It's always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great."
Wow, and all Obama did was meet Ayers in passing a few times, while condemning his past radicalism, and yet here we have McCain offering a blanket endorsement of Liddy's principles and philosophies, saying he is "proud" of him. Yes, and McCain was around while all of this way going on, while Obama was 8 years old when Ayers was active. Read more here:

And I leave you with this, Colbert wonders why Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly didn't leave the Catholic church after decades of widespread reports of sexual abuse of children:
