California Legalizes Gay Marriage!

The California Supreme Court legalized gay marriage today in a 4-3 decision! The Court issued a long ruling, but here is the gist of its finding:

In light of the fundamental nature of the substantive rights embodied in the right to marry — and their central importance to an individual’s opportunity to live a happy, meaningful, and satisfying life as a full member of society — the California Constitution properly must be interpreted to guarantee this basic civil right to all individuals and couples, without regard to their sexual orientation.
What a novel idea! You mean being made a second (or third) class citizen unable to marry like "normal" humans gets in the way of the pursuit of happiness? Hell, I thought they enjoyed being denied societal and legal recognition of their relationships.

This is just craziness! Now how am I supposed to get married and have a happy life while gay people are able to do the same? It'll ruin my life if others are happy and have rights!! Yeah, don't expect the conservatives to give up anytime soon. In fact in November there is a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage on the ballot. Anyway, congratulations people of California, you serve as an example for the rest of America! Here are some reactions:
